VISUAL Message Center iSeries Performance Manager is installed in a library called JOBCTL.  In addition it installs the library T4NICELINK only for communication purposes with the Windows client side, which stores common objects for Tango/04 products. The library and objects in library JOBCTL follow some important security rules, as described in the section below.

Object Authorization Settings

Rule 1

All objects are installed with *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE authorization, except for:

  • Program objects (*PGM): VWINZC50, VWMATMIF.
  • Job Queue objects (*JOBQ): PSJOBQ.
  • Output Queue objects (*JOBQ): PROUTQ.
  • Message File objects (*JOBQ): CPYMSGF, PRMSG00S.
  • File Objects (*FILE): JCREGX.
  • Command Objects (*CMD): CHGPFRCFG, CLRDBTBL, ENDPFRSVR, PFRINSTALL, STRPFRSVR.
  • Data Area Objects (*DTAARA): CPYARA, PRALC, PSINTU01, PSINTU02, PSINTU03.
  • Panel Group Objects (*PNLGRP): CLRDBTBL, PRCFG01H, PREND01H, PRINS01H, STRPFRSVR.
  • Library Objects (*LIB): JOBCTL.

Rule 2

All objects are included in the JOBCTL authorization list, except for:

  • Program objects (*PGM): PRCCC01C, PRCCC02C, PREND01C, PRINS01C, PRINS02C, VWINZC50, VWMATMIF.
  • Message File objects (*MSGF): CPYMSGF.

  • Menu objects (*PNLGRP): PERFMAIN.

Rule 3

There is no program with QSECOFR authority that calls other programs without a qualified name (in other words without a specific library). VISUAL Message Center Performance Manager contains programs that adopt QSECOFR *OWNER only for very specific tasks.
