Hi @ all, 

unfortunately we have some problems with starting the Agent. 

Today we get the message: Server failed because: Could not start because the computer could not be unlocked (Step 0 in function Main)

Normally we get the error: Could not get Process ID from Event Monitor (Step -1 in function)

These errors occurs often and in no fixed intervall. 

Do you have an idea how we can solve this challenge?

Hello Christian,

These issues are a bit harder to pinpoint as they are very environmental in nature.

The first thing to check would be the logon setting for the workflow that is attempting to logon. Right click on the workflow, select properties, then logon, and make sure they are set to:

Logged on user

logon as specified user

unlock as specified user

If that is ok, then the next step is to ensure that during testing (and runtime) we are leaving the machine in either a locked or logged off mode. If this is a VM and you are using a remote viewer of some kind to access the machine, hitting the X in the top right corner of the remote window will leave the machine in a disconnected state. This is not something that AutoMate will recognize and cause cause issues.

Lastly, using Remote Desktop is not supported. If you are accessing and testing with this remote viewer, we suggest installing a viewer such as TightVNC, which is free and easy to setup, to test the issue.

If you still encounter the error after that, please send us an email to [email protected] to setup a time where we can troubleshoot using the VNC viewer (not remote desktop).
