I am evaluating Intermapper at the moment, and I can probe our proxy servers (we have 4) in various ways, showing resource use, service status, traffic etc.

Is there a way to probe a website out on the internet (like www.microsoft.com, www.google.com etc) using a specific proxy server.

So I could set up 4 probes, checking if it can access www.google.com, but probe 1 going through proxy 1, probe 2 going through proxy 2 etc.

This would show straight away if the proxy is struggling even if the proxy service, cpu etc is all up and running.

Have you tried the HTTP (Proxy) probe shipped with InterMapper for this?

Put a device on the map for your proxy server, then use a right-click "Set Probe" to choose the Servers-Standard > HTTP & HTTPS > HTTP (Proxy) probe and configure it to return a string you want to verify from a target URL.

You may need to expand the input boxes in the configuration section at the bottom of the Set Probe dialog (right-hand pane) to see them all.
