Q. What variables are tested by the Host Resources probe?

A. The Host Resources probe tests selected RFC2790 variables and indicates if they exceed user-set values. This probe queries and displays the following variables:

MIB Variable OID
hrSystemUptime 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1
hrSystemDate 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.2
hrSystemNumUsers 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.5
hrSystemProcesses 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.6
hrMemorySize 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.2

It traverses the hrStorageTable and queries and displays the following variables for each entry:
MIB Variable OID
hrStorageIndex 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.1
hrStorageType 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.2
hrStorageDescr 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.3
hrStorageAllocationUnits 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.4
hrStorageSize 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5
hrStorageUsed 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6
hrStorageAllocationFailures 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.7

It traverses the hrProcessorTable and queries and displays the following variable for each entry:
hrProcessorLoad 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2

For the hrStorageTable and the hrProcessorTable, in addition to displaying the values for each entry, it calculates processor load, memory usage, and disk usage, and indicates a warning or an alarm if an entry exceeds user-defined thresholds for these values.

This probe also queries and displays variables from the UCD-SNMP-MIB where available, as described below.

It traverses the laTable and queries and displays the following variables for each entry:

MIB Variable OID
laIndex 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.1
laNames 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.2
laLoad 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.3

It queries the following CPU variables, displaying them and using them to calculate and report CPU load.

MIB Variable OID
ssIndex 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.1
ssCpuRawUser 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.50
ssCpuRawNice 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.51
ssCpuRawSystem 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.52
ssCpuRawIdle 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.53

It queries the following memory variables, displaying them and using them to calculate and report memory usage.

MIB Variable OID
memIndex 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.1
memTotalSwap 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.3
memAvailSwap 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.4
memTotalReal 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.5
memAvailReal 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6
memShared 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.13
memBuffer 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.14
memCached 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.15

In addition to displaying these values, it calculates CPU load, swap, and real memory usage, and indicates a warning or an alarm if an entry exceeds user-defined thresholds for these values.
