I have a simple Viewpoint query that I need to display only one current record. I want to make it so that the end user does not have to select the single record toolbar button each time they run the query and I'm not really excited about creating a report format just for this issue. I thought it would be an option that could be set in the properties but I don't find it. I've also looked in help but still no answer.

Is there a way to set the single record view as the default view?

When a view displays a single record, the defualt is to still show the columns of data horizontally.  You need to double click on the reord to get the display to show the fields.columns stacked vertically.  Double clicking places them back horizontally.  There is not a Viewpoint Defautl setting to allow you to change the single record display default.
