V5R3 or higher.
Compatible with i5/OS V5R3 and V5R4, and IBM i 6.1, 7.1, and 7.2.
Ability to sign on to the IBM i as QSECOFR or equivalent (*SECADM, *ALLOBJ, and authority to RSTLICPGM command).
A license key is required. Be sure you have a product license before starting this procedure.
Create a temporary directory on your PC: C:\TEMP.
Download the Stand Guard Network Security 3.11 application to the temporary directory. Current users can access the download from the My Downloads page. If you're a new user, you should have received an email message containing the download link. If you don't have it, contact your Bytware Regional Manager.
Unzip the file to the C:\TEMP directory.
Open a DOS window (Click Start > Run, type COMMAND, and press Enter). Then, type the following commands:
FTP, then press Enter.
OPEN, then press Enter.
Type your IBM i system name or IP address, then press Enter.
If necessary, type your username and password, then press Enter.
QUOTE RCMD CRTSAVF QGPL/SGNS311, then press Enter.
BIN, then press Enter.
PUT C:\TEMP\SGNS311 QGPL/SGNS311, then press Enter.
BYE, then press Enter.
Sign on to the IBM i with *ALLOBJ and *SECADM authority and run the following commands:
RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(QTEMP) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/SGNS311)
For new installs: QTEMP/SGINSTALL
For upgrades from 3.x: QTEMP/SGINSTALL REPLACERLS(VxRxMx) RESTART(*YES)
(Confirm the version you're replacing by running the command DSPSFWRSC.)
To go to the main Stand Guard menu, type SGMENU on a command line and press Enter.
