Multiple CLI commands that require lookup of hosts / Host Groups in the BoKS database cause the boks_master process to perform slowly
A routine used in serveral CLI commands for host / Host Group lookup is not optimally designed, causing it to always read the entire host database table even when this is not needed.
With many hosts, this can slow down the boks_master process, as the routine calls boks_master to read the table. When cadm is used repeatedly this can cause a significant slowdown in the average response time for the boks_master process.
Resolution / Workaround
Install the hotfix HFBM-0020, available from the HelpSystems Community Portal.
The hotfix includes a modified version of the routine that only reads the entire table if it is called with a Host Group containing wildcard members. The routine is mostly just called with a hostname.
Alternatively this issue can also be resolved by upgrading to BoKS Manager / BoKS Server Agent for Unix / Linux 6.7.
