Summary
A non-BoKS user attempting to ftp to a BoKS Server Agent with empty password causes ftp client and boks_servc to get stuck in a loop
Issue
If a user not in the BoKS database does ftp to a BoKS Server Agent and gives an empty password, in certain cases the ftp client and boks_servc become stuck in a loop, with boks_servc requesting a password from the client over and over again.
If this happens on many clients, for example because there is a scanning software checking that it is not possible to check in as guest with an empty password, this may generate a significant amount of traffic and cause servcto use up all available CPU resources.
Resolution / Workaround
Install the hotfix HFBM-0015-2 from the HelpSystems Community Portal.
This hotfix includes modified code which resolves this issue.
Alternatively, this issue can also be resolved by upgrading to BoKS Server Agent for Unix / Linux 6.7.
