When you change the Host Group of a user account in LDAP, update of the user in BoKS is denied

The modbks program includes a restriction to prevent the Host Group being changed in BoKS for users imported from LDAP.

However this restriction means that synchronizing of user attributes for users whose Host Group has been changed on the LDAP side does not work.

In addition, calling modbks with the argument -g may cause the program to dump core.

Resolution / Workaround

Install hotfix HFBM-0026, available for download from the HelpSystems Community Portal.

This hotfix includes a modified version of modbks which resolves these issues.

Alternatively you can also resolve this issue by upgrading to BoKS Manager 6.7.

Note that this issue also affects:

  • BoKS Manager 6.6.1
