When trouble-shooting a command line operation, it sometimes becomes necessary to do both a debug and truss in order to see what is happening.

Most BoKS commands take the -x option to render a debug output and -x9 is usually the preferred debug level.

The recommended command line would thus be the following:

truss -f -D -d -o /var/tmp/trussfile boks command -x9 > /var/tmp/debugfile 2>&1

For example:

truss -f -D -d -o /var/tmp/lsbks.truss /opt/boksm/sbin/lsbks -x9 -fT -l bokshost:foo > /var/tmp/lsbks.debug 2>&1
