Summary

How to change the nodekey for a BoKS Replica, or a Server Agent for Unix / Linux

Procedure

  1. Change the node key in the security database on the Master using FoxT Control Center (this can be done in the expanded hosts listing using the Set node key button) or the Command Line program hostkey on the Master.
  2. Log in to the host for which you want to change the node key, become superuser and start a BoKS shell.
  3. At the Unix command line, type hostkey -f
  4. Type the new node key when prompted.
  5. Confirm the new node key by re-entering it when prompted.
  6. Reboot BoKS using the command Boot -k; Boot
Note: Perform these steps consecutively, without interruption. If the locally stored node key and the node key in the security database are different, the BoKS Manager internal communication will not function.
