You can change the name of a Host Group that was previously defined in BoKS using FoxT Control Center or the command line program hgrpadm. When you change a Host Group name in BoKS, the Host Group name is changed in the BoKS database, an audit log is made in the BoKS audit log, and the Host Group name is also changed in:
  • BoKS user account names that include the Host Group name
  • Access Routes that contain the Host Group name
  • Any pre-registration entry that contains the Host Group name
  • Any entries in the $BOKS_etc/profiles/host2profile file.

Note: You cannot modify the name of a Host Group that has been associated with a group in Active Directory using adgroup.

CAUTION: If you change to a longer Host Group name, the username of user accounts that include the Host Group name as the Host Group part of the Host Group:username may become truncated in the BoKS database without warning if the new Host Group:username string exceeds the limit of 149 characters. As long as the username part of any user does not exceed 19 characters, this cannot happen.
