Introduction

Many customers have large monitors on the walls of operations areas to make the Enterprise Console highly visible to their Operations Teams. Other customers simply use the Enterprise Console Client on an additional monitor on their desk.

Either method is a great way of having your Enterprise Console readily visible and enables you to keep an eye on your enterprise.

You may, however wish to customise the display to suit your needs.

This “how to…” shows you how to do the following:

  1. Choose what columns are displayed in the panels.
  2. Change the colour of the status column.
  3. Change the colour of the source column entries.
  4. Change the colour or text of the status column in the device panel.
  5. Change the device information colours.

Saving client changes

Remember, when you have made customisation changes to the Enterprise Console Client to save the layout by either;

  1. Save: To save to the existing layout name
  2. Save as…: Provide a new layout save name

When a new layout name is saved, it is available in the layouts drop-down (3)

In version 10.3 of the Enterprise Console and above, the layout files are stored in

%PROGRAMDATA%

Which typically equates to:

C:\ProgramData\Halcyon\Enterprise Console\Layouts

You can then distribute a customised layout to all users of the enterprise console client. If it is placed in this directory on their desktop or laptop PC, it will be available for use in the layouts drop-down (3).

Choose what columns are displayed in the panels

To select what columns are displayed in the panels: click on the “*” in column 1 on the enterprise console client display and check/uncheck what you require.

You need to do this for each panel.

The change takes effect immediately.

Remember to save the layout.

Change the colour of the Status column

This is done on the Enterprise Console client display.

To change the colour of the Status column:

  1. Click on the Options tab.
  2. Select which status you wish to change.

The change takes effect immediately.

Remember to save the layout.

Change the colour of the source column entries

This is done from the “Enterprise Server Options” application.

To change the colour of the source column entries:

  1. Click on Alerts.
  2. Click on Source Types.
  3. Select the Source Type you wish to edit.
  4. Click Edit Source Type.
  5. Change the colour here.
  6. Click OK to save.
  7. Click Apply to push the change through to the console clients. It will change immediately.

Change the colour or text of the status column in the device panel

This is done from the “Enterprise Server Options” application.

If you want to change the colour of the status column in the devices panel:

  1. Click on Alerts.
  2. Click on Alert Types.
  3. Select the Alert Type to edit.
  4. Click Edit Alert Type.
  5. Change the colour here.
  6. Change the status text here.
  7. If you wish for the status to flash, check this box.
  8. OK to save the change.
  9. Click Apply to push the change through to the console clients. It will change immediately.

Change the device information colours

This is done from the Device Manager application.

If you wish to change the Device information colour (Device, Address, Description):

  1. Double-click the device you wish to change.
  2. Click on General.
  3. Click on Display.
  4. Click on the colour.
  5. Click OK to save.
  6. You must then “RELOAD DEVICES” on the Enterprise Console clients to pick up these changes.
