This procedure allows you to save the product libraries to preserve the embedded configuration.

Powertech Identity Manager is tied to Powertech Central Administration. Any save of an Identity Manager library requires the inclusion of the Central Administration library. The two product libraries must always be handled together.

If Powertech Exit Point Manager (also called EPM, and formerly called Network Security) is also installed, it should also be backed up at the same time due to its integration with Central Administration. If Exit Point Manager is not installed, the following references to Exit Point Manager and its libraries PTNSLIB* can be ignored.

  1. End the Identity Manager, Exit Point Manager, and Central Administration monitor jobs with following commands that may be running under the PTWRKMGT subsystem.

Note: Ending the job is recommended but It is not required. Without ending these jobs, the following library saves can take additional time to complete due to object locks created by the jobs which may cause the save to timeout.

    PTPMLIB/PPMENDMON (Identity Manager)

PTNSLIB07/LENDCAPSUM (EPM - If job PTWRKMGT/ SUMCAPTRAN is running)

    PTNSLIB07/PNSENDMON (EPM)

PTNSLIB07/PNSENDDASH (EPM- If job PTWRKMGT/PNSGMSTR is running)

PTPLLIB/PPLENDMON (CentralAdmin- Also inclusive of the PPMEVTMON for Identity Manager)

  2. Save the libraries PTPMLIB (Identity Manager), PTNSLIB07 (Exit Point Manager) and PTPLLIB (Central Admin)

Suggested commands to save the libraries:

    SAVLIB LIB(PTNSLIB07) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(if used) SAVACT(*LIB) PVTAUT(*YES)

    SAVLIB LIB(PTPLLIB) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(if used) SAVACT(*LIB) PVTAUT(*YES)

    SAVLIB LIB(PTPMLIB) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(if used) SAVACT(*LIB) PVTAUT(*YES)

  3. When the saves are complete use the following commands to restart the product monitors:

    PTNSLIB07/LSTRCAPSUM (optional)

    PTNSLIB07/PNSSTRDASH (optional)

    PTNSLIB07/PNSSTRMON

    PTPMLIB/PPMSDTRMON

PTPLLIB/PPLSTRMON (will start the PPMEVTMON for Identity Manager)

Restoration to the same system will require all three libraries to be restored together.
