After installing Policy Manager for IBM i,take option 60 from the Main Menu and initialize the policies (See Occurrences when Policies are Initialized in Policy Manager for IBM i).
This takes the current values for the settings and makes them the policy, saving the Admin from having to look up and enter all of the system value settings, for example. This method initializes most policies, but you will still have to create templates for the user profile attributes you want to monitor, as well as, the library and directory objects whose authority and ownership settings you want to monitor.
After installing Policy Manager for IBM i, take option 61 from the Main Menu and import the policies from another system in your network. This method imports all policies including user profile, library and directory templates.
In addition, examples to help you get started defining templates and policies are in the Policy Manager for IBM i manual. See Powertech Product Manuals.
