Important Updates to Cybersecurity Software

HelpSystems is updating the names of our cybersecurity software, including the Powertech product line. Don’t worry—the functionality of your products won’t change.

See the new names here > New, Simpler Names for HelpSystems Security Software.

Both Robot/CONSOLE and SIEM Agent for IBM i will attempt to apply an exclusive lock on the message queue QSYSMSG when activated. If both applications are installed, the following is an option to allow them both to co-exist on the same partition.

  1. Create an alternate message queue to be used by SIEM Agent for IBM i to monitor messages “duplicated” by Robot/CONSOLE from QSYSMSG and sent to the (alternate) message queue.

    Example: QSYS/QSYSMSG3

  2. Configure SIEM Agent for IBM i to monitor the alternate message queue: Main Menu Option 1, 2 next to Syslog Server.
  3. Enter the new message queue that was previously created:

Note: For our example it is QSYSMSG3

  4. In Robot/CONSOLE, create a Table. For example, a table (e.g. ALTMSG) would be created that monitors the file QSYS/QCPFMSG – system messages. This should be created for a multiple error messages option.
