When you use the Email Report Server/400 output-queue monitor (ERSMON), you set alternate From and Reply To email addresses.

Sample Command

To use the From and Reply To email addresses from the output-queue entry, use:

ERSMON FRADDRESS(*OUTQ) QGROUP(TEST) REPLYADDR(*OUTQ)

Setting the From Email Address: The FRADDRESS Parameter

You can use any of the following values in the FRADDRESS parameter:
  • A specific From email address.
  • *DEFAULT to use the email address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *RECIP to use the From address from the email-recipient entry. If the email-recipient From address is blank, it uses the From address from the output-queue entry. If both the email-recipient and output-queue From addresses are blank, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *OUTQ to use the From address for the output-queue entry. If the output-queue From address is blank, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *USERID to use the email address from the Email Report Server/400 address book for the user who runs the output-queue monitor. If the user is not in the address book, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *USERDEF to use the email address from the Email Report Server/400 address book for the user specified in each spool file's user defined data.

When setting the From email address in a spool file's user defined data, use the format RPTUSER: USERNAME, where USERNAME is the iSeries user name.

If no email address is defined in a spool file's user defined data or the user is not in the address book, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.

  • *RPTUSER to use the email address from the Email Report Sever/400 address book for the user ID associated with each report. If user in the user ID is not in the address book, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.

Setting the Reply To Address: The REPLYADDR Parameter

You can use any of the following in the REPLYADDR parameter:
  • A specific Reply To email address.
  • *RECIP to use the Reply To address from the email-recipient entry. If the email-recipient Reply To address is blank, it uses the Reply To address from the output-queue entry. If both the email-recipient and output-queue Reply To addresses are blank, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *OUTQ to use the Reply To address for the output-queue entry. If the output-queue Reply To address is blank, it uses the default From address in the FROMADDR data area.
  • *FROMADDR to use the From address.
  • *TOADDR to use the To address.
