Run WRKLIB RJSSPLIT to confirm that you do not already have a copy of the RJSSPLIT library on your iSeries. If it returns no results, continue to step 3. If it does return results, RJSSPLIT has been installed on your iSeries in the past; ask your iSeries administrator whether to upgrade or clear the library and reinstall.
Make sure that:
FTP is running on the iSeries LPAR where you are installing RJSSPLIT.
Your account has the required system credentials. Note: If your account does not have the required system credentials, use QSECOFR or another account with *ALLOBJ special authority.
On the FTP server, make sure that NAMEFMT is set to 1, not 0. Note: NAMEFMT is set to 1 on most FTP servers.
If you are using FTP exit programs, create an exception or temporarily disable them during this installation.
Make sure that your RJSSPLIT license matches the iSeries serial, model, and LPAR numbers. If you do not have a license or do not know if your license matches, view our licensing help or contact RJS Technical Support.
Execute RJSSPLIT.exe.This will unzip the temporary files to C:\pcsinst and launch the FTP library installer.
Specify the IP address of the LPAR you wish to install to, along with the User and Password of the security officer account you wish to use for performing the install.
Click on Step 1-Connect to IBM i, and click on each button in sequence, waiting for each operation to complete before proceeding to the next. Informational messages will display at the bottom, as will errors messages, if any errors occur.
Applying a License
On an iSeries command line, run CALL QCMD for a longer command line.

Verifying an Existing License
On an iSeries command line, run the RJSSPLIT/PRDINFO command to view your OS/400 level and your iSeries series, model and LPAR numbers. They will display at the bottom of your screen, in the format: OS/400 Level: ___ Model: ___ Serial#: _______ LPAR: _.Copy these values into an email.
On an iSeries command line, runDSPDTAARA RJSSPLIT/RJSSPLITto display your current license. Copy the license value to your email, as well.
Send the email to RJS Technical Support at firstname.lastname@example.org, with the above information, your name, and the name of your company.
Requesting a Demo/Disaster Recovery/Temporary License
You can get temporary licenses, free of charge, for demo and disaster recovery purposes, or by arrangement.
Get the serial, model and LPAR numbers for the system you want to license.
If you've already installedRJSSPLIT, you can use the instructions atVerifying an Existing License, Step 1, above.
If you are running OS/400 V5R3or above, open the Electronic Service Agent menu (GO SERVICE) and take option6 (Display service agent registration information). Your serial, model and LPAR information will display.
If you are running OS/400V5R1orV5R2, run theSTRSST command and login to get to theSystem Service Tools (SST)menu. Take option5(Work with system partitions) to view your LPAR number (referred to here as partition identifier). Alternately, you can use the system command DSPSYSVAL QSRLNBR to obtain your serial number, and DSPSYSVAL QMODEL to get your model number. If you do not know your LPAR number, you may need to call IBM and get it by providing your serial number.
Since RJSSPLIT is licensed per LPAR, moving the library to another LPAR, even on the same hardware, requires a modified license. If you need to keep the old LPAR in production while the new LPAR is tested, request a temporary license using the instructions above for the new LPAR. Once you have removed RJSSPLIT from the old LPAR, use these instructions to obtain a permanent license for your new LPAR.
Getthe serial, model and LPAR numbers for the system you want to license.
If you've already installed RJSSPLIT, you can use the instructions at Verifying an Existing License, Step 1, above.
