Basic Usage

Add Info Print Integrator/400 to your library list and access it's menu:

ADDLIBLE RJSINFOPGO RJSINFOP

Create the default RJSPDF1 printer definition via menu option 10, Create Infoprint Integrator Objects - IPRCRTOBJ. This creates a print writer called RJSPDF1.

Use option 11 to start the print writer, or option 13 to work with the existing print writers. This print writer must be started prior to using Info Print Integrator/400.

Note: Input spool files must be added to the print writer queue with the save status set to *YES and the hold/release status set to 'release'.

After printing to PDF to /RJSTEMP, Info Print Integrator/400 needs the original spool file to know which spool file attributes to respool it's output with. It can then move or delete the original spool file using it's after-processing options.

Typical process outline

  1. Generate your AS/400 application reports into the RJSPDF1 output queue.
  2. Make sure the RJSPDF1 printer writer is started.
  3. Run the Infoprint PDF Monitor (IPRMON) from option 15 or 16. The RJSPDF1 outqueue will be your input, and you must specify what outqueue and library you would like your PDF spool files respooled to (perhaps in preparation for another process, such as Batch Report Server/400 or Email Report Server/400).

Note: Normally you will be submitting the monitor to batch so it can pick up new reports as they are generated by the IBM Infoprint Server.

Sample command for submitting IPRMON to batch:

SBMJOB CMD(RJSINFOP/IPRMON PRTDEV(RJSPDF1) OUTQ(QGPL/RJSEMAIL) DELAY(*DELAY) DLYTIM(60) ENDTIME(160000) AFTEROPT(*DELETE) SAVEUSER(*NONE)) JOB(IPRMON) JOBQ(QSYSNOMAX) JOBMSGQFL(*WRAP)
