Problem:

How to make the CA/400 ODBC Driver Case Aware on WHERE or LIKE Clauses ?

Solution:

Start the Windows 95/NT ODBC Administrator (ODBCAD32.EXE) and either create a new Client Access/400 ODBC data source or select the option to modify an existing one.

Once the Client Access/400 ODBC Setup screen is displayed, click the '''Language''' tab and change the following settings:
  • Sort Type: Sort based on language ID
  • Sort weight: Shared-Weight
  • Language ID: United States English
After changing the settings, a query with a where clause such as:  NAME LIKE 'John%'  should yield the same results as NAME LIKE 'JOHN%'
