To verify your FTP server is running on the iSeries:
  1. Sign on to the iSeries. 
  2. On a command line, type NETSTAT and press Enter
  3. Choose option 3 and look for the local port value ftp-con.
  4. If the ftp-con local port value is not there, start the FTP server:

    STRTCPSVR *FTP

 
To verify your iSeries TCP/IP address:
  1. Sign on to the iSeries.
  2. On a command line, type NETSTAT and press Enter.
  3. Choose option 1 and check the list of IP addresses to make sure you are using the correct IP address. 
 
To verify that you can log on to your iSeries FTP server from DOS:
  1. Go to the DOS prompt. 
  2. Type FTP 1.1.1.1, substituting your IP address for 1.1.1.1, and press Enter.
  3. You should be asked for a user ID and password. If this fails or does not happen, there is a problem connecting to your iSeries FTP server and RJS Software products will not work until the connection issue is resolved.
