Problem Statement:

Setting up data-source configuration receives error: "Setup routines for ShowCase ODBC driver could not be found, please reinstall the driver."


The ODBC Administrator is unable to locate the ShowCase ODBC setup routines.


  1. Uninstall and reinstall ShowCase Client.
  • For the purpose of installing ShowCase, log onto the PC with a profile that has administrative privileges. This only needs to be done during the install; after this is completed, any user profile should be able to use ShowCase effectively.
  1. If the ShowCase ODBC files have been installed and registry entries exist, but the registry entry points to an invalid location, update the ODBC Registry entry to locate the desired ShowCase ODBC.
  • Update the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ShowCase ODBC "Driver" and "Setup" registry entries to point to the location of the SCODBC32.DLL

Example: C:\Program Files\ShowCase STRATEGY\bin\SCODBC32.DLL
