Problem description / Issue description

Sometimes, due to certain actions, our iSeries Data Base gets corrupted. The most common error message is the MCH1604:

Symptoms

You receive error messages on the SmartConsole.

When you check the iSeries, you can see the same BDRDB03-R message:

 

Solution

When You have a problem with the BDHST02X PF on the iSeries, the problem might be that it is corrupted, if this is the case here are a few steps you need to follow in order to restore the file.

Using QSECOFR or the same user that performed the installation.

ENDJOB for all VMC jobs:
WRKOBJ OBJ(B_DETECTOR/BDHST*) OBJTYPE(*FILE) --> delete only logical files!!!
DLTF FILE(B_DETECTOR/BDJOB02X)
DLTF FILE(B_DETECTOR/BDAGN02X)
DLTF FILE(B_DETECTOR/BDTCK02X)
DLTF FILE(B_DETECTOR/BDHST02X)

Download via FTP the tangolib.savf (Using QSECOFR or the same user that performed the installation)
a. Download to the PC the tangolib.savf
b. Create a SAVF using the command:
i. CRTSAVF B_DETECTOR/TANGOLIB
c. Upload the file from the PC to the AS400.
i. Connect to iSeries FTP server
ii. Execute the following commands:
1. CD B_DETECTOR
2. LCD <folder of the file on the PC>
3. BIN
4. PUT tangolib.savf TANGOLIB
5. QUIT


Execute the restore : 
RSTLIB SAVLIB(TANGOLIB) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(B_DETECTOR/TANGOLIB)

CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(BDHST02X) FROMLIB(TANGOLIB) OBJTYPE(*FILE) TOLIB(B_DETECTOR)

CALL PGM(TANGOLIB/CRTLF)

DSPDBR b_DETECTOR/BDHST02X (just to check)

After this, start the monitors again and everything should work.
