Steps

To alter proprietary database retentions through the graphical user interface (GUI):

  1. Log in to TeamQuest CMIS through the TeamQuest Administration Console gateway or by going directly to https://nodename:port.
  2. Click Database Settings and select the database (if there is more than one).
  3. From the left panel, click Aggregation.

The active aggregation sets are displayed.

  4. From the Aggregation Set List page, select the aggregation set.
  5. Click Edit next to the Retention field.
  6. Make your changes.

Note: When you click Save, the Est Max file size is automatically adjusted.

To add an aggregation set through the graphical user interface (GUI):

  1. Log in to TeamQuest CMIS through the TeamQuest Administration Console gateway or by going directly to https://nodename:port.
  2. From the top right pane, click Add Aggregation Set.
  3. Type an aggregation set name.

HelpSystems recommends using the point size for the aggregation set name. For example, 8-hour, 5-minute, and so on.

  4. Type the Granularity.

Granularity is specified in the hh:mm:ss format. For example, 08:00:00 for 8 hour.

  5. Type the Retention.

Retention is how long data is retained before it is deleted.

  6. Change the source to the next smaller size available.

For example, if your source is set to 8-hour and the next smaller is 1-hour, change the source to 1-hour.

  7.  Click Add.

The aggregation set is created and will get data at the next aggregation run, based on the current database retentions.

To add a retention and aggregation sets through CLI:

Note: to add a retention or aggregation set through CLI, you must be logged in as the same user that you run CMIS as (Administrator account on Microsoft Windows systems).

  1. Run the tqasa command on the manager\bin directory to see a list of available aggregation sets and information for default database.

Note: You do not need to specify additional tqasa options.
  2. Alter the existing aggregation set retention by running the following command on the manager\bin directory:

    tqasa -d databasename -m aggregationsetname -g -k retentionname

For example, to change the 8-hour aggregation set to 1 year, run the following command:

    tqasa -d production -m 8-hour -k 365

To create an 8-hour aggregation set through CLI

Run the following tqasa on the manager\bin directory:

tqasa -d production -m 8-hour -g 28800 -k 365

where -g is the number of seconds for the granularity. Therefore, 8 hours is 8hours * 60 minutes in an hour * 60 seconds in a minute.
