  • Integrating Intermapper with Insite

Wed, 09 Oct 2019 18:42:07 GMT – Integrating Intermapper with Insite

    Integrating Intermapper with HelpSystems Insite

Download and install Insite from the Community Portal:

    https://community.helpsystems.com/products-and-downloads/downloads/download/?id=cc3b0464-ee58-e611-80da-0050569f6bb1

The below instruction is to Integrate Intermapper with Insite for Windows and the steps for Linux are basically the same.

Steps to prepare Intermapper for integration with Insite:

    1. Verify web server is running and note what port (default 80) is in use. Integration using HTTPS is covered in Knowledge Base document and can be done post-installation:

    https://community.helpsystems.com/knowledge-base/intermapper/im-for-insite/intermapper-insite-ssl/

           2.  Note a username and password with Admin privileges in Server Settings > Users, which will be used in Insite for the connection. Test the web server and credentials in a browser if desired using the link in Server Settings > Web Server.

After Insite installation is completed and you click “Finish” you will see Ready to install other required components on different systems? with information and links. You need the bottom link “http://(Your OS name or IP address).helpsysdev.com:3030‘’ Select the link with your Operating System name and with the port “3030”. Copy this link and paste it in your browser and it will guide you to the steps of configuring Insite to integrate with Intermapper.

On the “Set Administrator Password” page make sure to document your password because there is no password recovery and click “next”.

The next step is “Configure product” and our product is Intermapper. The “Address” field is the Network name or the IP address where the Intermapper Sever is installed. Port by default it is port 80. The “Alias” could be any name of your choice which is for the connection display name. The “Username and Password” field is for the credentials previously configured and set to be part of the Administrators in the Edit > Server Settings > Users > then click “Next” to go to the final Step.

On the “Data Collection page”: Fill in your Company name and select “keep collection On or Off” at the bottom page.

The Insite Dashboard page will open.

Click on the “+ Add Dashboard”. Fill in the name and description of the “New Dashboard” and click Save”.

Then select “+ Add widget” and the “Add Widget” page will open. Add the information you would like to see in the Dashboard and click “save”.
